HIPAA Privacy, Security and Transactions
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 is one of the most
far-reaching and important pieces of health care legislation ever passed by Congress. The
Act requires all Protected Health Information (PHI) to be held secure from unauthorized use and
release.
Prodata is fully HIPAA compliant. We use 128-bit SSL encryption to send and receive data over
the internet, submit electronic claims in approved ANSCII 837 format, maintain physical plant
security, and follow established policies and procedures to ensure and maintain security and privacy
of all PHI as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
